This year's edition of the Aliquippa High School Varsity Marching Band is under the direction of Mr. Robert D'Angelo. Mr. D'Angelo directs a band that consists of 40 members and a 14 member band front. As come to be expected, this dedicated group of students are those that truly have the most school spirit and always manage to get the fans jumping whenever our signature drum cadence begins or when the "Quips" score a touchdown with the familiar strains of "Fight!" or "Come On Aliquippa".
The Aliquippa Varsity Marching Band has performed in "Walt Disney World" in Orlando, FL and "Busch Gardens" in Williamsburg, VA. The Aliquippa Varsity Marching Band also makes an annual appearance in the Beaver County Band Festival held at "Geneva College" in Beaver Falls.
On November 26, 1999, the "Fighting Quip" marching band made their first appearance in the Beaver Falls Holiday Parade.
Being that the number of students who currently march in the band has dropped in recent years, each year Mr. Degosky recruits a group of Middle School students. This has proved necessary in allowing the band's numbers to remain steady.
The band is supported by the "Aliquippa Band Parents". This organization runs various fundraisers to provide the band with various items such as treats for the our band and the visiting band, homecoming party, Christmas party and the Annual Spring Banquet.
